About Me

Jamell Crouthers is a poet, author, blogger and podcaster who has taken on a journey of writing in the prime of his life. He has been writing poetry since the age of 13 but never thought he could utilize his talent to tell stories and write books. He is not the traditional author as he writes his books in poetry format with a focus on storylines and societal issues.

After publishing 14 books, his goals and plans are to continue writing books on taboo subjects that aren't discussed enough in today's world and bringing those main subjects to the forefront. Jamell's blogs tackle societal issues, how he writes his books, his journey as an author and some motivational blogs that will get you to focus on your goals. His goal and moniker is, "to change the world, one book at a time."

Code Blue: An Oath to the Badge and Gun Series

The Code Blue Series somehow became something bigger than me. The best way to describe it is looking at the world now and what’s going on, ...

One of the toughest series to write besides The World We Live In, this series delves into gun control and kids having access to guns. Gun control has always been a major topic of discussion and it’s become a big issue and concern in America. The amount of school shootings that have occurred, have we become immune to these tragic events happening?
This series is a 5 part series where a tragic school shooting happens and the story is told from the perspective of a police officer, students and survivors, EMT workers, ER employees, the mayor of the city and many others. You will hear the story from plenty of people’s perspectives as they chronicle that day, what is going through their minds and dealing with the tragic event that just occurred.

As the series continues, you will hear from newer characters and it will chronicle people’s perspectives in the aftermath of the shooting, the trial, the verdict and the discussion on ways to deal with and handle gun control in America. The goal is to make people understand that it's not just going based off of what's reported on the news, it's about the people and the experience they're going through.

This is definitely not an easy subject to talk about but it has to be discussed. Columbine, Sandy Hook, Sante Fe, Parkland, the list goes on and on. This is about children's lives and the safety of people, not just about having the right to owns guns. The 2nd Amendment does give us the right to own guns but at what price?

How are kids getting access to guns so easily like it's walking into a candy store and picking what you like and buying it. There are other things that go into this gun control ordeal, especially the agendas that are being pushed and the media utilizing their coverage to divide us as a nation. There's way more to this and it comes from the powers that be (do your research).

This will be a series that forces us all to have more discussion on the issues with gun control in America. It will also make people realize that we need to pay attention more to what is going on in the world and what can be done to keep violence out of schools and make government officials be held accountable for what is going on in America.

It's never going to be about how much talent you have, it's going to be the hard WORK you put in daily. The early mornings or late nights or even a combination of both. Your success will always be predicated on how much WORK you do and how much discipline you have to get the work done. So I implore you to always WORK hard at what you're great at.

You should show up and give 100% every single day, especially if you want to be the boss and the head honcho. CEOs give 110% into what they're great at and put everything on them no matter what. It's okay if you're not the CEO and you want to be the CFO or the director of operations, you still have to give 100% into what you're doing.

If you're an artist, a writer, an author, a businessman (businesswoman), there's so much time put into your work and getting better everyday. The WORK isn't going to do itself so buckle down and get it done. Yes, it's a beautiful day outside, or you dream of going on a vacation, or your friends are calling you to come hangout with them. You have to be willing to say no and get the WORK done.

I've missed weddings, family events, birthday parties, get togethers, so many things all because I have WORK to do. Those same people that I passed up on spending time with, most don't even support what I'm doing and most of them are no longer in my life on a full-time basis. So just imagine if I went to all of these events and hung out, I wouldn't be where I am in regards to this WORK I'm doing.

See, I have a vision in my head of my journey, not even the end goal of it. I'm visualizing the whole process, me doing the work, writing these blogs, recording new content on YouTube and Instagram. I visualize publishing books and writing books I have planned out in the future. There's always WORK to do no matter what.

My books always have to be promoted and marketed. My podcasts need to be promoted, this website needs to reach more people. This is endless for me, I'm working on inspiring people through these blogs, changing the world with the societal issues going on around us, telling people that people who run and control this world are trying to control our minds. That's why I always WORK hard and give my all into what I'm going. That's why I write these blogs months and even a year ahead of time so I can go WORK on other projects that are important to me.

So when you're down in the dumps, your WORK will reach those its meant to in due time. Keep in mind I'm approaching 4 years of this journey I'm on. It only gets easier as time goes on, remember that. Just keep doing the WORK though.

If you don't VALUE yourself, then who else will? Do you think people are going to love and respect you as a person if you don't VALUE yourself? Don't sell yourself short of who you are, your journey and where you're going. Everyone can go with you, remember that. As much as you want to take everyone, the reality is, a large percentage of people can't and won't.

When you start to VALUE yourself, you start to see your vision of where you want to be in life. Most people can't and won't see your vision either, especially if they don't have goals of their own. When you start to VALUE yourself, your mindset changes, your goals become bigger, your mental state improves, your time has more VALUE.

When your mind starts chugging away, you start to see things differently, you start to see people differently. When you VALUE yourself, your time is spent on bettering yourself as a person, your relationships with others will either falter or improve exponentially. When you have the right people around you, they will start to VALUE themselves more and you will inspire and motivate each other. Your energy will bounce off of each other so easily and fully.

This is what VALUING yourself is about, this is how your journey should go. There are going to be bumps in the road, there are going to be forks in the road. This all comes down to making sure you're mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually in a good place. It's not easy but just make sure you're in the right mindset to strive for whatever you want.

Be good everyone and go accomplish your goals!

If you don't have an URGENCY to get things done, you will not finish a lot of what needs to be done. Organize yourself and write down what things are most important when trying to finish your tasks and goals. Most of us needs something visual to know what we need to do and what has to be done. I know I do, I am old school and write down "to do" lists every week and I check off things as I complete them.

I will admit, I do have a tendency to put things off and I end up re-writing it onto a new "to do" list next week which isn't good. Which means I'm dodging it and I shouldn't be and know that a certain task needs to be done. An example may be editing and formatting a book that I wrote. Last year, my last book I'm publishing for the year, it took me too long to finish it. When I finished writing it, I avoided editing it for a good 3 weeks but I knew it had to be done.

It's now or later and later may cost you in other things that you may need to do. Remember everything falls on you when you're an entrepreneur or you want to be a lawyer, doctor. The reading isn't going to do itself, the studying isn't going to do itself. If you want to be a professional athlete, the practice in your craft isn't going to get done unless you go to the field, court or gym to get a workout in.

For me, the books aren't going to write themselves, the editing and proofreading isn't going to do itself. These blogs aren't going to write themselves, the podcasts aren't going to record themselves and neither are the audiobooks. Which is why I hold myself accountable for everything and why this blog was written 11 months ahead of time. Yes, you heard that right, 11 months ahead of time because that's how dedicated I am to my craft, motivating you guys, writing books on social issues, recording podcasts on what's going on around us.

So now I ask you, will you have the URGENCY to continually get work done? How bad do you want to succeed in what you love? How much do you love what you do? Are you going to get things done everyday? How much time and dedication are you going to have toward getting back at your craft? Take the time to think about it because I'm ahead of everyone, that's for sure.

Be good everyone and go accomplish your goals!
