About Me

Jamell Crouthers is a poet, author, blogger and podcaster who has taken on a journey of writing in the prime of his life. He has been writing poetry since the age of 13 but never thought he could utilize his talent to tell stories and write books. He is not the traditional author as he writes his books in poetry format with a focus on storylines and societal issues.

After publishing 14 books, his goals and plans are to continue writing books on taboo subjects that aren't discussed enough in today's world and bringing those main subjects to the forefront. Jamell's blogs tackle societal issues, how he writes his books, his journey as an author and some motivational blogs that will get you to focus on your goals. His goal and moniker is, "to change the world, one book at a time."

Code Blue: An Oath to the Badge and Gun Series

The Code Blue Series somehow became something bigger than me. The best way to describe it is looking at the world now and what’s going on, ...

The title of this blog is so important to me because of my journey that I'm on right now. I've been writing and doing so many things for over 3 years. The one thing I've been doing is having PERSISTENCE in the PROCESS and I won't stop. There are days where I don't want to do it anymore and then I have to remind myself that I could be stuck at a desk for the next 30 years of my life. Then I get back to work and know that what I'm doing is not finished.

If you keep going hard at your goals and the end goal, you'll definitely see results. It's hard work, a grind and staying consistent in what you're doing, everything will fall into place. Nothing is going to be easy because if it was, everyone will always choose that route and there will be way more rich people in this world.

It's time, hard work, dedication to getting better at what you're doing. I'm always working at writing better blogs, the next book, sounding better on podcasts, sounding better when I record my audiobooks. For me, it's not about being perfect but just improving each time with what I'm passionate about. It's about growth within you and no one else.

Look at all of the people who are entrepreneurs, businessmen, businesswomen, lawyers, doctors who strive for greatness and got to where they are. It was PERSISTENCE in the PROCESS to get to where they are. It was years of planning, working, grinding, and continually doing things through trial and error. A lot of them will say it wasn't easy and they were consistent in what they were doing to get to where they are.

The journey should be long, nothing happens quickly. So enjoy all of the ups, downs, the good, the bad, the ugly, the falls, everything. It'll give you a great story to tell when you get to the top. Remember you become successful the minute you start working toward your big goals, not when you achieve the money for what you do.

Be good and go accomplish your goals!

Everyday should be a life where you live with a PURPOSE. It should be a reason for why you are doing what you are doing. If you can't find that, then its time to reevaluate your life and start making changes. Your life shouldn't consist of existing, working, paying bills, and getting old to live off of the very limited money you were able to save up.

Your life should have substance and PURPOSE no matter what. Finding your passion and continually doing it until you're making money full-time is what it's about. If you have a gift and talent that you should be sharing with the world, you need to be pursuing that with every ounce of energy that you have. Will you figure out what you should be doing right away at a young age in your life? Not necessarily, everything takes time.

It wasn't until I was 32 years old where I found my PURPOSE in life and here I am age 36 doing it everyday whenever I have the free time. I'm not where I want to be yet where I can walkaway from Corporate America but I know I'm going to get there. I will always give my all to this because writing is my passion, sharing insight into what's going on around us, writing motivational blogs like this is what gets my juices flowing and my mind chugging away.

Life is about finding yourself, embracing the journey and learning about people and yourself. Some of you may know what you want for the rest of your life in your 20s, some in your 30s, some in your 40s. The best advice I can give you all is to live your life, experience things, try things that interest you and then find a good 3-4 things that you can see yourself doing the rest of your life.

Now I know what you're thinking, 3-4 things? Yes, that is correct because we are all multi-talented in different things and we shouldn't hinder ourselves. I write books, record my own audiobooks, do podcasts, write blogs, have a YouTube channel and write screenplays. I never thought I'd be doing any of these but here I am, embracing the journey and taking it all on. How do I manage all of it? By focusing on certain things and not feeling like I should be focused on all of them at once.

I've found my PURPOSE in life and you should too. It's not easy and depending on what your goals are, just know that it all comes in due time.

Be good and go accomplish your goals!

I want to ask you an important question. Have you taken the time to OBSERVE who really supports you? I'm talking about people who care about your success and your well-being on a regular basis. They ask about your goals, your journey, the grind you go through and what your end goal is. Have you thought about that?

If you haven't, I am going to ask you to do that. This is what I mean by people who really support you. They're reposting anything that you post on social media, they're shouting you out to their family and friends, they're buying your product or telling people to lookout for you and what you're doing. They text or call you to see how everything is going with what you're doing, they leave reviews on the product you have and are selling.

Sometimes if you stop talking, you don't reach out to a few people for a while, you watch and OBSERVE people and how they move, you'll start to see who supports you and who doesn't. It's very easy to do, listen more than talk, watch more with your eyes through observation and hone in on actions than words. It's easy to get caught up in people talking than actually taking the time to do things proactively.

Do your due diligence in regards to this, it will make your life easier. It allows you to make your circle smaller, it eliminates jealous people, envious people and people who don't want to see you succeed. Grind with the people who have been with you from day one and you'll go far in whatever you're passionate about.

Be good everyone and go accomplish your goals!

The picture for this blog explains itself, you can't live a positive life with a negative mind. Negative thoughts affect your mind and NEGATIVITY will hinder you no matter what. Thinking positively that things are going to workout when it comes to your life goes a long way. It's not easy to have a positive mindset all of the time but life has a way of working out when you're thinking positively.

A lot of things can contribute to having negative thoughts in your mind. You may not be mentally strong sometimes, you might be dealing with things in your life, you might want results for what you've been working on for the longest. It can be a myriad of things that may have you in a negative mindset. But you can't let that break you and you can't let that get to you.

There are so many negative forces in the world, people, things, environment. If you have negative people in your life, you have to distance yourself from them. If you're in a negative environment, work on being in an environment that will help you prosper and strive for greatness. The world is setup for you to be in a negative mindset so don't let anyone or anything get to you.

You are bigger and better than the NEGATIVITY that goes on around you. A toxic environment can hinder your success. Rushing the process of wanting results keeps you from success also. Focus on what you can control and let the rest work out for itself.

Having clutter going on in your mind is one of the worst things to deal with when you're working on something major. Life can get busy and hectic and sometimes our minds aren't able to fully function correctly and be clear of the clutter. The best thing to do is the calm your MIND and recharge your battery.

When your MIND is calm and at ease, your thoughts are more clear, you're more coherent and cognizant of things. I've dealt with my MIND being all over the place and it was hard to focus on what I had to do. When this happens to me, I take a break, get my MIND right and then come back to what I'm doing.

It all starts with your MIND with anything, your thoughts control the rest of your body. When your MIND isn't right, your body isn't either and can affect everything else. That's why they say, how you think determines how your life will go. So be sure to calm your MIND whenever things get too hectic in your life.

I know it's easier said than done but it's imperative that you keep your MIND clear of all of the clutter. Stress causes it, overthinking, overanalyzing things, situations going on in your life and many other things. Take care of yourself, it goes a long day.

Be good everyone and go accomplish your goals!
