About Me

Jamell Crouthers is a poet, author, blogger and podcaster who has taken on a journey of writing in the prime of his life. He has been writing poetry since the age of 13 but never thought he could utilize his talent to tell stories and write books. He is not the traditional author as he writes his books in poetry format with a focus on storylines and societal issues.

After publishing 14 books, his goals and plans are to continue writing books on taboo subjects that aren't discussed enough in today's world and bringing those main subjects to the forefront. Jamell's blogs tackle societal issues, how he writes his books, his journey as an author and some motivational blogs that will get you to focus on your goals. His goal and moniker is, "to change the world, one book at a time."

Code Blue: An Oath to the Badge and Gun Series

The Code Blue Series somehow became something bigger than me. The best way to describe it is looking at the world now and what’s going on, ...

Well...this is the final blog of this year. I will be taking a break for the rest of the year to relax, clear my mind and get mentally prepared for next year.

There's so much more coming next year so definitely stay tuned.

This year this is what I've accomplished:

Published books: 6
Blog Written: 55
Podcast episodes: 49
Audiobooks: 3

This is not to toot my own horn but I have worked my butt off this year and it's only fitting that I share with you all that I've accomplished. Am I happy? Not really because I haven't reached my ultimate goal yet. I'm never that happy and I'm never too down either. I'm always in the middle.

With that said, this is my book schedule for next year as I will be releasing 7 books (they're all written and in pre-order for eBooks on all major bookstores):

February 8th: The World We Live In: A Poetry Book On Societal Issues Part 4:

February 22nd: The World We Live In: A Poetry Book On Societal Issues Part 5:

The ending of the series, the question is what’s to come of these character’s lives? Will Christina be able to cope with her tragic event and be able to speak on it to a broader audience? How will Nathan’s impact on sports be now that he’s come out as a gay man? Will Heather become stronger for herself and kick the alcohol addiction and become closer to her children? It’s a journey of the characters and how they’re approaching the future and what’s to come. While many stories have happy endings, life has a way of making you realize that it isn’t always about happily ever after but about going through experiences to make you stronger than you’ll ever be.

April 19th: The Struggles and Growth of a Man Part 3:

Robert is going through a growth transition in his life from reflecting on his old neighborhood he lived in to losing his friends and going through therapy to deal with all that goes on in his mind. While dealing with those things, he learns about how hard it is to love when he hasn’t received it his whole life, all while trying to find himself through all of the madness in his life. His younger brother Michael comes home from prison and it’s a new adjustment to having him around again and trying to get Michael acclimated to life in the real world again. While Robert finally figures out what his passion is and what he wants to do with his life, Michael is chronicling his life behind prison walls and adjusting to the real world again.

May 10th: The Struggles and Growth of a Man Part 4:

This book goes back and forth with thoughts and experiences Robert and Michael are going through. They are both still trying to learn about themselves, life and their paths and they want to go on. Michael goes back to visit the place he grew up in and is caught up in a drive-by shooting that changes his mindset on life. Robert is at wits end with the city he’s living in and after all that he’s been through, his goal to be a motivational speaker. This takes him to a place he thought he would never live. You will see and realize that sometimes in order to achieve your goals and dreams, you must make certain sacrifices and decisions to get there. Part of it is personal growth and the other part of it is leaving the city you’ve always known.

June 7th: The Struggles and Growth of a Man Part 5:

The ending of the series where the most important subjects about growth as a man are discussed. Robert shares his deepest thoughts on life, his experiences and how he’s grown into the man he is today. Being a man in today’s world is hard because of all of the stigmas and expectations from everyone else. Robert pens the most important things to focus on when you are learning about yourself as a man and becoming the best person you can be. Robert has finally come into his own and he’s thankful for the journey he’s been through and looks forward to impacting others in his future.

September 6th: Kids With Guns:

Matthew and Max walk into school armed with arsenal to take out whoever is in their path. Another mass shooting has occurred in America but this time around, you will hear detailed accounts from survivors, police officers, EMS workers, doctors, surgeons and others of the ill-fated afternoon where their lives were forever changed. This will be a story that tells it from various perspectives and not just what the news reports to you. It’s a book that will open your eyes to not only the gun control issues we face in America but the safety of our kids and the adults who are responsible for our kids.

December 6th: Kids With Guns Part 2:

The aftermath of a school shooting is horrifying as the community comes to terms of what happened in their safety net they call home. This book delves into the perspectives of Matthew and Max’s parents, the signs of what was coming and also hearing the mindset of the shooters themselves Matthew and Max. A gripping book that details life after a mass shooting in a community of thousands as they grief the loss of others and try to get their lives back to normal.

I've written a lot of blogs this year that talk about my journey, what I've learned, helping you all grow and I hope you guys have enjoyed my content. I have a lot of great blogs coming next year so stay tuned. If you haven't read any of my books, they're available for purchase on here and on all major bookstores (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple iTunes, Kobo, Scribd and other stores). My audiobooks are available on here and I will be working on new audiobooks during my 2 week break.

I never thought I'd be where I am on this journey but it's definitely been well worth it. To anyone who says they don't have time to follow their passion, you're only lying to yourself. If I can work a full-time job, write books, record audiobooks, record podcasts, and write blogs, you definitely have time, you're just not motivated enough.

My books are here on the website and my podcast is The Aquarianmind Podcast where I discuss societal issues going on in today's world.

I want to wish everyone Happy Holidays, be safe, enjoy the time with your family, the quality time spent with them is more important that the material things. I will see you all next year!

Be good everyone and go accomplish your goals!
