About Me

Jamell Crouthers is a poet, author, blogger and podcaster who has taken on a journey of writing in the prime of his life. He has been writing poetry since the age of 13 but never thought he could utilize his talent to tell stories and write books. He is not the traditional author as he writes his books in poetry format with a focus on storylines and societal issues.

After publishing 11 books, his goals and plans are to continue writing books on taboo subjects that aren't discussed enough in today's world and bringing those main subjects to the forefront. Jamell's blogs tackle societal issues, how he writes his books, his journey as an author and some motivational blogs that will get you to focus on your goals. His goal and moniker is, "to change the world, one book at a time."

It's with great pleasure to tell you, my first audiobook is available for purchase! I narrated my book Code Blue: An Oath to the Badge and Gun on audio and you can purchase it here on this website! Once you exit here, you will see it on the right side of the website, it's only $3!

I've put a lot of work into making sure it's good quality (it's not perfect) and it's a great way to listen to my book and hear my voice since I wrote the book myself. I decided not to go the route of publishing it on bookstore websites because it's either pay for a narrator (which is hundreds of dollars) or narrate it myself but it has to be perfect in sound (as if I recorded it in a studio) and that isn't feasible.

I was able to buy a good microphone from Amazon which connects to my iPad, I downloaded an app (from the apple store) that allows you to record it and I recorded my whole book. It took a few weeks (as there were some obstacles I had to face) and I was able to get it done.

The journey took a while but it was well worth it and I enjoyed every moment of it. The mess ups, re-recording, making sure I sounded good and pronunciated words correctly and my tone of voice was good, I was able to do it all on my own. I was recording it on another app and then things went bad and I unfortunately had to start over with the current application I'm using on my iPad.

I was able to send all of my audio recordings to my Google Drive (you can also send it to Dropbox and other places) and then I uploaded it to a website named Ganxy that allows you to setup audiobooks, ebooks and products for sale on your website. It's an easy process and they definitely get back to you if you have any questions.

Have a great week everyone, you can subscribe to my blog by typing in your e-mail on the top of the page and get these blog posts sent straight to your e-mail!

Be good and go accomplish your goals!
