Gun Control In America
This has been the biggest issue that's been going on lately, gun control. What can be done about it, how do we get control of it and how do we keep guns out of the hands of people who have the potential to commit malicious crimes? There's no clear cut answer but the reality is, we have a gun control issue legally and illegally. The thing is there's the constant discussion of gun control laws and the registration process. Yes, I get it, there has to be more done in regards to that so let's delve into this first.
The school shootings are crazy, sad, unfortunate and it seems like there is nowhere that is safe anymore. Schools, nightclubs, airports, movie theaters, concerts, it's a constant part of looking over your shoulder to make sure nothing bad is going to happen. The recent school shootings goes to show that gun control laws do need to be revised and that we need to be looking deeper into what's going on with these constant mass shootings.
The growing concern is that these mass shootings will continue but it's time we start looking into what's really going on. The Second Amendment grants U.S. citizens a right to bear arms (own a gun), is the goal to try and take those away? Yes. Also, there seems to always be the same agenda whenever a mass shooting happens, same weapon too. Deranged person, on medication, mental health issues, able to buy a gun (AR-15 is the gun used in most mass shootings). A lot of it doesn't make sense to me when it comes to those things but I'll delve deeper into my thoughts with that in my podcast.
Now, the illegal gun issue, it's a given that this is a major concern. Even if guns were to be taken away from us, people can still find ways to get access to guns on the streets. Illegal guns infiltrate our streets everyday from urban areas to the suburban areas of America. It's not even necessarily gang members who won illegal guns, there are citizens of this country who own guns illegally and that's something that will be hard to control as it us.
America has always been a violent country and it's really unfortunate. There's the comparisons to other countries and how there isn't as much violence but the reality is, cultures are different from country to country. There's also the way of living in America compared to other countries. While it may work for other countries, it doesn't necessary mean that it's going to work here in America. People value life in other countries, unlike here and that's a sad reality.
