My blogs consist of my journey as a writer, poet, and author. I plan on chronicling my journey from new projects to current things I'm working on and many other things. There will be blogs where I'm sharing my deepest thoughts on what I'm dealing with and going through as a writer and author. Each blog discusses what's going on at the present time of my writing journey. I hope everyone enjoys my blogs and my journey!
My Feature In Writer's Life Magazine
Sometimes you never know what opportunities in life will come your way. I was blessed to be featured in Writer's Life Magazine. I was able to connect with the editor of the magazine and was given an opportunity to be in the magazine for the summer edition. The magazine was just realized a week ago and it's one of the biggest accomplishments of my life.
Granted the magazine isn't huge, the fact that I'm featured in it, it's very fulfilling. The pictures are below and if you want to see a digital or print copy the website is this link here. Writers Life Magazine
While I discuss a lot of societal issues in my poetry and in my books, there are so many things that we as people need to talk about more and bring to the forefront. It's no longer about talking to our family members about things, it needs to be discussed amongst our peers so we can better understand each other and make changes to the world.
The Struggles and Growth of a Man is a book about a man who struggles with what the world tells him and what his truth really is. While there is a Part 2 coming later on in the year, the focus is to make people understand that men struggle, we need help, we need guidance, we need to emote, feel and express ourselves. We need people to stop letting the world/society brainwash us into thinking men have to be tough and strong all of the time. That's detrimental to our mindsets and it keeps us from growing and learning from our mistakes.
The World We Live In Parts 1 and 2 is a series of 5 books that I'll be publishing about societal issues…
The question I seem to get asked the most is how I write my books. For me to have published 3 books in one year is a big feat but it's not as easy as you think. So it's time for me to breakdown how I write my books and the process. The biggest part for me is to be comfortable, in a clear mindset and music is the biggest component to my writing.
After spending a good amount of time brainstorming my ideas and writing down every possible idea I'd want to put in my book, then comes the part of sitting down to write the story. Most days I can write a good 2-3 chapters without any breaks (that's when I'm really focused and want to get things done). Other days I'll write 1-2 chapters and then brainstorm how I will write my next few chapters. A lot of times I'll re-read stuff and go back and edit or change what I wrote to get more impact on what I'm trying to say.
As far as the music goes, I mostly listen to ambient or electronic music which is relaxing and all…
My next book, "Code Blue: An Oath to the Badge and Gun," will be coming within the next few weeks. It's a book that deals with a police officer on the force where there's a lot of corruption going on within the police department. There was a lot of reasons for writing this book and I know that the issue of police brutality and killings needed to be addressed.
Even though this book is a fictional story written in poetry format, this book deal with racism that goes beyond measure. It's a book that will make you feel uncomfortable if you're not open-minded to the racist atrocities that go on in today's society. I enjoyed writing this book as this will get you to think about the societal issues we face with relationships between police officers and the citizens of our society.
There's a hope that people start to understand that racism is a major issue not just in America, but also around the world and we must get to a place where there's acceptance o…
